Italian label Prada has unveiled the latest images to be seen in its SS22 advertising campaign, and fronting it all is Spider-Man: Far From Home‘s Tom Holland.

The 24-year-old actor stars in a short film for Marco Bizzarri’s Fall/Winter collection, called “Characters.”

The movie was shot by Alberto Salis, with additional photography conducted by Tom Munro. It focuses on the concept of contemporary manliness through a series of vignettes that revolve around Holland's character.

It must be noted that “characters” is also the name of Prada’s 2019 spring campaign, so this is clearly not the first time Prada and Holland will be working together.

The collection showcased at Milan Fashion Week FW22 consisted of sweeping, bold shapes with an emphasis placed on black as well as navy military dress which was offset by the vivid colors of the 1970s.

Prada’s SS22 ad film also stars the likes of Édgar Ramírez, Andrea Riseborough, Zal Batmanglij, Filippo Mezzapesa, and Corey Stoll.

As you’ll likely remember from all those Spider-Man meme jokes around Tom Holland’s character in the latest Marvel epic, Peter Parker is actually an intern at the Daily Bugle.

This describes Holland’s character in Prada’s SS22 video, where he’s seen wearing a navy suit with his name tag on it—the same outfit he wore for the movie’s internship scenes.

The rest of Tom Holland’s look is an ode to the ’70s with fur coats, military-inspired trench coats, and three-piece suits.

What’s surprising about this pairing is that Spider-Man has never appeared in Prada’s ads before (although he did once appear in one image for Louis Vuitton when he was wearing the French label's Cruise 2019 footwear).

This is not the first time Prada has relied on a celebrity to front one of its campaigns. The label previously tapped, among others, Adrien Brody, Gary Oldman, Willem Dafoe, Tim Roth and Jeff Goldblum for its FW12 campaign shot by Steven Meisel.
