Takashi Murakami has teamed up with PORTER to create a new range of bags, after a collaboration with Futura on a series of screen prints. The partnership kicked off PORTER’s 85th anniversary festivities, which included a slew of new collaborations and products from then until February 2021.

Murakami’s iconic flower motif was featured on one cushion and five classic PORTER bags, which were all lacquered in a glossy blue finish and decorated with Murakami’s characteristic flower motif. Bag types included the bigger Doctor’s Bag, Helmet Bag, Tool Bag, a ruck sack, and a wait bag, as well as smaller versions like the Fanny Pack and Vertical Shoulder Bag.

Murakami’s designs appeared on portions of the outside and were printed onto PORTER’s distinctive orange linings, and all of the pieces included Murakami’s embroidery patterns and detachable flower motifs. A PORTER patch and Tonari no Zingaro insignia completed the look of each bag.

The Takashi Murakami x PORTER bags are all available now on hideout.nyc and stay tuned for additional exclusive releases from the Japanese label.
