After unveiling its latest Dickies collaboration for Fall 2021, Supreme has now returned to announce its latest season tee series. Part of the New York imprint’s move into the Winter 2021 season, the upcoming release feature nine new graphic T-shirts.
Leading Supreme’s Winter 2021 Tees collection are two T-shirts emblazoned with prints of American artist Christopher Wool‘s celebrated paintings that incorporate issues surrounding post-conceptual ideas.
Supreme also uses the upcoming Winter collection to highlight T-shirts and hoodies that feature prints of artwork by Kaws and David Choe. The latter’s pieces, which were created for Supreme last decade, use abstract shapes and bold colorways that are further enhanced with chipping paint effects. All three artists also contributed original illustrations for Supreme’s collaborative launch with the New Museum in December 2018.
Additional pieces feature prints from artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Mark Flood and John McCracken. Supreme also includes a graphic T-shirt from its 2018 Hanes collaboration that features a black “EAT THE RICH” print on a blue background.
The two tees in question see a war plane crashing into the New York skyline, based on one of Wool’s famed “Totems” series while the second tee depicts a plane bursting through one of Wool’s artworks. Elsewhere, a golden Superman crest is emblazoned across a T-shirt with accompanying text “Supreme New York.”
Meanwhile, the Kaws hoodie features a black and white image of his “Companion” character and two T-shirts and a hooded sweatshirt that feature both Basquiat and Choe prints.
The collection will release just after the label releases its first exclusive skate deck for the upcoming season featuring a rendition on Pointillism artist Georges Seurat‘s A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. Supreme is expected to release its Winter 2021 collection in-store and online. The brand has not yet announced a specific date for the launch of the new skate deck.
