There are a lot of travel mugs out there, which can make the decision about which one to purchase more difficult than it needs to be. I've gone through and found the best mugs for commuting, camping, and even some that double as beer glasses. We've narrowed my search down to the following six travel mugs that will be perfect for you to bring with you whenever you leave your home or office.

Yeti Rambler 30-Ounce Stainless Steel Tumbler

Yeti's have been around since 2006, and are one of the most dominant players in the coffee cup space. What makes their mugs so special? They are extremely well insulated, and can keep your coffee hot for a very long time. If you prefer coffee that is closer to drinkable after only 10 minutes than lukewarm coffee at 30 minutes, this should be your first choice when it comes to commuting mugs. Best of all, the majority of their mugs are double walled, which is another way for them to keep your coffee hot.

The only real drawback with these mugs is that they have no handles - which means that you're going to have a harder time using them in the car or even walking around with them. They do, however, come in a few colors, and I've found that the Rambler 30 is pretty easy to throw into a backpack without much issue.

As far as pricing goes, they unfortunately aren't cheap - averaging anywhere between $30-50 depending on where you look (and what color). You can read more about these mugs in the link below:

Thermos Stainless King Food Jar

Thermos has been making insulated food and drink containers since 1913, so they're one of the most well established brands in the industry. What makes their products different is that they have a patented vacuum insulation liner, which increases heat retention without any extra weight added to your vessel.

The Thermos Stainless King Food Jar comes in three different sizes - including a 20, 24, and 40 ounce vessel that is perfect for coffee or tea - and even includes a lid with a built-in strainer (which is great if you're looking to drink iced coffee).

The problem I've found with these mugs as they age is that the lids tend to get stuck, and the plastic body starts to develop cracks - but if you take care of them properly they will last for quite some time.

Hydro Flask Double Wall Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Tumbler

Hydro Flasks are well known for their ability to keep things cold, which makes them great for the beach or a hike. I've found that they aren't much good in terms of keeping coffee hot - but they are perfect for going on a short bike ride or jog (< 7 miles) with your favorite beverage.

The thing that makes these mugs so special is the fact that they are vacuum insulated, meaning they use fewer materials while still providing superior heat retention. This results in them being exceptionally light, which makes them perfect for taking with you when you go for a run or spend the day at the beach.

The pricing is also very reasonable - ranging from $18-28 depending on where you look (although I've found that Amazon has the best deals).
