Anthony Vaccarello has released the Rive Droite capsule for Saint Laurent. After the Heat capsule and its '90s revival, Vaccarello's latest effort is more of a Summer 2021 take. Think hot-weather gear like branded surfboards (not actual ones from his line) and super colorful swimwear in neon hues with Saint Laurent's signature logo patchwork. The collection also features lightweight shirts, bleached denim shorts, and two-tone midi skirts.

The new Saint Laurent Rive Droite collection is available now online with prices ranging from $300 to $1,900 USD.

The new summer 2021 collection celebrates the ideal of freedom in the form of a California state-of-mind: where everything is possible, even the hotness shown by its iconic imagery captured by Willy Vanderperre. The collection celebrates a California that is free, innovative and colorful, which is why garments feature the brand's signature logo patchwork in bright hues of fuchsia and turquoise.

The Saint Laurent surfboards are made from recycled foam with glass fiber reinforcements for extra strength — so it may not be suitable for actual use, but it looks pretty great on the Saint Laurent runway set.

Inside, the bright yellow "Hot" capsule was a riot of color — so much so that the new idea is to tone things down with its opposite: everything in white. Contrasting and clashing shades are reduced to a mere flash on certain pieces in subtle contrast to the overall white, or a solid yellow, with all details picked in vibrant colors.

The collection is more relaxed and seductive than his usual sartorial creations, yet still screams YSL. It's everything we love about the brand — whether it is for its approach to strong tailoring and maximalism or its history of nodding to cool California vibes — but with a fresh twist.
