Earlier this year, it was posted on OpenSea that Bored Ape Yacht Club is leading in terms of total volume traded in NFTs on the platform. It has even surpassed CryptoPunks.

Bored Ape Yacht Club is currently at $1 billion USD in total traded volume, as of the time of writing. Most recently, it was purchased for almost $60 million USD by rapper and businessman Lil Uzi Vert. OpenSea further revealed that BAYC is now listed as the second highest selling NFT on the site.

The BAYC is now at number two on the list of top-selling NFTs, which includes CryptoKitties, Etheremon, and Axie Infinity. It has even garnered attention from rapper Lil Uzi Vert. He bought the most expensive yacht club by paying almost $60 million USD for it.

Market analysts are saying that this could mean that BAYC has the highest chance to reach the level of CryptoPunks because it is already well-established in terms of value.

Bored Ape Yacht Club is on the rise, and it seems that it has a lot of potential to reach the level of CryptoPunks in terms of value.

OpenSea released an official report about this milestone in which they added: “While currently fighting over top floor price with CryptoPunks, its total volume of 300k ETH is still well under CryptoPunks’ 775k ETH in sales — that’s $1.1 billion USD to $2.9 billion USD.

“With current high-profile owners, like Gunna and Eminem, there is a chance that BAYC could eventually reach the level of CryptoPunks in the coming year.”

It was also discussed that a single-edition Chibi Robo goes for around $7,000 USD and that it was once featured on ‘Nathan For You.’ According to OpenSea, this is just one example of how large NFTs can be. This is stated in the platform’s official post: “Big NFTs are big business, and OpenSea plays a major role in their economy."
