Louis Vuitton announced that the retrospective presentation of Virgil Abloh’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection in Miami would “pay homage to the life and legacy of a creative genius,” shortly after an official announcement that he had lost to a private battle with cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer, for almost two years.

The premium fashion brand displayed a state of the late Artistic Director in front of a crowded gathering of celebrities and fashion figures. Virgil Abloh was seen in a colorful and large-scale portrayal, staring at the heavens while holding an LV monogrammed canvas, symbolizing his artistic attitude. A number of drones were also employed to make the shape of a paper airplane, his initials, and the heartfelt message “Virgil was here” to cap up the presentation for the late designer.
