Kylie Jenner is officially the most followed person on Instagram.

The 21-year-old reality star hit her 300 millionth follower on Thursday, and is the only woman to ever top that number. Cristiano Ronaldo and Instagram follow closely behind with a total of 389 million followers each.

On Thursday, Kim Kardashian's mother-in-law became the first woman to reach 300 million Instagram followers. After being discovered on Instagram, the account has gone viral, amassing an estimated 1.5 million followers in just a year. In June 2017, she was named as one of Time's 100 most influential people in the world. Since then, her story has been everywhere—and not because she's famous; instead, it's because she's using the platform to share her journey with fans and show that not everything is as it seems.

She's used the site to document every step of her life: from body transformation, to throwing up during pregnancy because she was too nervous about becoming a mother, giving birth, loving every stage of motherhood while still indulging in chocolate cake, public appearances, her family's support, new business ventures.

And now she has broken the internet with her Instagram. As of today she has surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo as the most followed person on Instagram.
