Dior has unveiled its latest eyewear creation to celebrate its long lasting partnership with lens manufacturer Carl Zeiss Vision. In addition to taking on the title of Official Eyewear Provider and Spectacle Lens Partner of Dior, Carl Zeiss Vision is also responsible for manufacturing bespoke lenses for Christian Dior's (Paris:CDI.PA +0.28%) sunglasses. The two brands have worked together since 2017, and their first collaboration included the limited edition CD Link collection released in September 2018.

The new designs are a follow-up to the CD Link line and continue to celebrate Dior's creative director Kim Jones' signature aesthetic of bold colors, contrasting patterns and unparalleled detailing. The new CD Link collection contains eight styles available in a variety of bold colour hues, from yellow and blue to red, while continuing to feature the CD Link logo subtly imprinted on the temples.

Various materials have been used for these sunglasses pieces including nylon, acetate and metal for frames and Carl Zeiss Vision lenses that are also used in Dior's eyewear collections. The selection of lenses allows for a wide variety of optical effects and perform well in different lighting conditions, ranging from UV-protected to polarized sunglasses built for both men and women.

These limited edition frames are set to be released later this year with prices starting at $300 USD (£239 GBP). A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the Association Nationale de Prévention du Suicide (ANPS) in France - an organisation which aims to prevent suicide through awareness, programmes and research.

With each new collection, Kim Jones collaborates with different brands under Christian Dior's umbrella such as Christal Van Marc (Paris:COU) for the crystal-embellished jewelery and leather accessories.
