Gucci is still the world’s top brand, according to the Lyst Index Q1 2021. For the second year in a row, the Alessandro Michele-heled label has taken the highest ranking, displacing Balenciaga, Off-White, and Nike down the list. Nothing has changed in Q1 2021 – Gucci remains at the top of the list, but what lies underneath the premium Italian fashion house has been considered the most intriguing.

For the first time, Dior has been included in the Lyst index, coming in third. It was previously excluded due to its distribution methodology, but an increasing demand for the previously owned and vintage Dior, along with data sources that drives Lyst’s analysis, means it may now be considered.

Balenciaga comes in fourth place, thanks to its collaboration with Gucci and a successful year in which it tools a statement against the usage of fur, all while pushing Off-White off the list of brands in the running. Moncler takes fifth spot, Prada takes sixth, Louis Vuitton takes seventh, Bottega Veneta takes eighth, Saint Laurent takes ninth, and Off-White drops six places in the ranking down to tenth despite introducing seven new collaboration Nike shoes and introducing its latest campaign titled, “I Support Black Women.”

Versace, Burberry, Fendi, Valentino, Alexander Mcqueen, LOEWE, Givenchy (standing in the same slot amidst the Matthew M Williams debut), Jacquemus, Balmain, and Stone Island are ranked 11th to 20th respectively.

Gucci continues to lead the pack in Q1 2021, thanks to the previously mentioned collaboration with Balenciaga, as well as its partnership with North Face, which also starts to dominate traction (the GG Canvas bomber jacket is reportedly the world’s hottest clothing item for women, obtaining nearly five times the retail value on the purchase market), Harry Styles and Billie Eilish were among the celebrities dressed for the Grammy Awards. The Gucci line is also featured prominently in the film “House of Gucci,” starring Adam Driver and Lady Gaga, which further adds to the brand’s excitement.
