When Ron English dropped the teaser for his collaboration with Clutter, it was already evident that this would be an incredible piece. In a recent interview with Hi-Fructose magazine , Ron explains how he came up with Glass Jaw: I wanted to do another head but I didn’t want to do a face. The first thing that came to my mind, because I was thinking about being hit in the face, was a boxing glove. Then I thought it would be an interesting idea to do a head with a transparent box that held what looked like a brain. And so in that moment - Glass Jaw was born!

Every part of this collaborative piece is hand-made and resin casted in England. The realistic sculpture of the brain (sculpted by Chris Mars, a collaborator famous for his work with The Brain series) is positioned within a clear plastic glove which itself is mounted on an intricate resin skull - which can be removed and seen as one piece or separate from the boxing glove.

Every detail of Glass Jaw was thought out with careful attention to the artist’s signature grotesque appeal; there are veins and folds on the brain sculpture that appear as though they were a real human’s, all contained within an irregular boxing glove. Every element of Glass Jaw is casted from a mold created by Ron English personally.
