Kim Kardashian Struts First Prada Show Wrapped in Yellow Balenciaga Tape

Not so quickly. On Sunday, the reality star-turned entrepreneur seemed to signal her devotion to all things Balenciaga, sitting front row at the brand's Winter 2022 presentation next to Balenciaga CEO Cédric Charbit and Euphoria actress (and Balenciaga muse) Alexa Demie.

But, it was her wardrobe that captured the attention of the media yesterday: a black bodysuit covered in Balenciaga-branded caution/packing tape, which made a "sticky tape-y sound" as she walked. She documented the process on Instagram Stories, with four Balenciaga assistants wrapping her spandex wear and boots in said tape, which took 30 minutes to make. (On the runway, a pre-designed version made an appearance on a model.)

According to the New York Times, Balenciaga creative director Demna explained that the tape was a reference to his childhood dress-up experiments. In addition, the business will be selling rolls of tape in its stores so that customers may personalize their own DIY style.

"I wanted to do something fun, festive and irreverent for the show," Demna told the Times. "It's a lighthearted tribute to my youth."

In Kardashian's own words: "It just felt so Balenciaga and so Demna. It was really entertaining, and I loved it."Kim reportedly stated, “I’m scared it's going to rip when I sit down. Should I just let it go?” Thankfully, it didn't get damaged — as she claimed in her Instagram Story — saying that she was carefully removed from the outfit after the program concluded so that it may be kept in her archives.

Kim Kardashian surprised many fashion circles a few days ago when she was photographed attending her first Prada show in Milan, wearing the label completely while taking photographs with Miuccia and Raf Simons. Was this the beginning of a new post-divorce era in fashion, or was it the end for her Balenciaga style chapter (one that is still indirectly connected to her marriage with Kanye West)?

Kid Cudi, And More, Join the Good Ol’ Levi’s 501

The number 16, for example, holds a special place in the life of young actor Matt Damon. Fortune cookies provide some people with luck, while others attain spiritual elevation through their angel numbers. The classic Levi's 501 is, of course, the wonderful old 501 (and remember to always rock this iconic American garment).

Next year, Levi's 501 jeans celebrate their 150th anniversary, and the American denim brand is already in party mode with a star-studded campaign called "The Number That Changed Everything," which promises to reveal "the million dollar number" that changed everything.

To commemorate the brand's 501 denim's timelessness, Levi's invited a slew of tastemakers who represent the creative energy generated by its iconic form.

The collection's imagery is filled with culturally deconstructive figures such as Kid Cudi, designer Tremaine Emory, musician Mike D of the Beastie Boys, model Nathan Westling, creative director and model Gia Seo, The Paranoyds' Staz Lindes, and stylist and editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson.

The 501 has been updated with a new "90s fit" by Levi's, which isn't satisfied with simply repeating the old cut. The relaxed, baggy style of this version is reminiscent of a more casual time, when clothes were more carefree and simple to wear.

The two brands seem to compliment one another. The designs are likewise rooted in the brand's more recent history, which includes a range of branded tees and denim jackets that harken back to pre-Y2K style.

"With denim, nostalgia may provide both attractiveness and comfort," Karyn Hillman, the Chief Product Officer at Levi's, added. "We want to preserve the new 501 '90s jean's aim is to capture what we call a "favorite worn-in pair of jeans from the past." A little more laid-back, midrise, and with just enough bagginess in the leg—simple, easy, and cool."

This isn't even the first time in recent memory that Levi's has enlisted big names to commemorate its illustrious clothing: just last year, it celebrated 501 Day with Naomi Osaka and Jaden Smith. However, there is one number that has had a bigger impact on the global retail industry than any other - and it's still right at the top of its game.

A Closer Look at CLOT’s SS@22 JADED Collection

Edison Chen's CLOT label has launched its Spring/Summer 2022 collection, which continues to pay homage to its heritage. The seasonal collection is inspired by jade, a highly coveted rock with a five-millennia-long heritage in China.

The famed Heshibi to the imperial seal and the jade disc hereditary pendants are thought to convey blessings and protection from above, according to the East's history. The essential cultural markers drive CLOT's newest attempt to blend Chinese heritage with careful modern fashion design, since they are seen as apex expressions of Chinese civilization.

The SS22 collection, dubbed "JADED," features outerwear, shirts, bottoms, accessories, and homeware with symbolic jade elements. T-shirts, coats, slacks, and bucket hats are embroidered with jade discs taken from old ceremonial offerings for blessings of good health and wealth. On top of the CLOT emblem, jade sculptures like as the five claw-dragon—once guarded for emperors—appear on T-shirts and sweaters, and the phoenix motif is elaborately embroidered on the back of field jackets.Aside from designs and graphics in shades of brown, green, lilac, orange, red, and white, the collection also includes tie-dye and multicolor lenticular on knitwear and a cape-like jacket.

COMME des GARCONS Brings Back the Ultimate Shopper

It's not unusual for prominent brands to collaborate on handbags. If the fact that Gucci and COMME des GARÇONS are ending a collaborative bag partnership sounds strange, it isn't. They've already released a shopping bag (two, in fact), and they have several similarities, considering Gucci's recent industry problems.

COMME des GARÇONS, which has long been the ultimate example of industry heterodoxy, has deliberately defied convention with clothing that undermines any preconceived notions of conventional attire design.

Rei Kawakubo's iconoclasm has won fans among high-end peers and industry tastemakers, but even the fashion agnostic seem to enjoy her Dover Street Market business.

Gucci, which is not only available at Dover Street Market but also has its own distinct installations to celebrate its centennial, has been breaking the rules this year. The luxury brand is pushing the envelope as far as legacy labels go, from Hot Wheels collaborations to Roblox partnerships to Balenciaga hacks.

COMME des GARÇONS and Gucci are reuniting to release their third co-branded tote bag before it travels to Los Angeles for a nonconformist fashion show. This one is more accessible than previous versions, with a basic black skin rather than the replica paper and patterned designs that adorned previous editions.

The ultimate understated luxury bag is designated as a Gucci co-sign only by internal tags and the distinctive red and green snaking on the lateral side, making it entirely unique. Given that one of CdG's strengths is Kawakubo's capacity to turn the ordinary into the fantastic, the bag's simple look is clearly deliberate.

"The circle of this experimental process," according to Gucci, is completed with the arrival of this tote, which will go on sale October 15 on Dover Street Market's web store, actual stores, COMME des GARÇONS shops, and Gucci's archival Vault site.Apropos of nothing, however, the bag was restocked on February 4 as part of Dover Street Market's Spring/Summer 2022 makeover. Nobody will begrudge you an opportunity to buy another bag.

Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Lipstick Campaign to Feature West Dakota

It's a given that Rihanna will market her pregnancy news with another Fenty Beauty release. The Fenty Icon Refillable Lipstick, which was introduced today, is a welcome addition to the brand's product lineup. Three red and seven neutrals are included, making it easy for everyone to discover a hue that they will enjoy. The lipstick also has a wonderful fragrance, which smells just like Rihanna's distinctive vanilla-peach scent.

“Lipstick is the game-changer for me," Rihanna explains, debuting a campaign that includes West Dakota, Precious Lee, Uglyworldwide, and others. "It can totally transform my entire appearance in an instant. The best-of-the-best neutrals and reds in the Fenty Icon collection are beautiful on everyone and feel so creamy and light."

The Fenty Icon's semi-matte texture is meant to provide an opulent appeal and feeling for all-day wear, with ingredients like hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate the lips, as well as vitamins C & E to nourish them. And the colors are just as lovely.

"I wanted them to be universally flattering on all skin tones, so they glow on everyone," Rihanna says of the collection. "Every color has a different undertone—golden, brownish or more cool—to compliment your natural tone."

And as for how it feels, the lipstick is just as light and creamy as promised. The Fenty Icon feels great on the lips and doesn't feel too dry or clumpy while wearing it.

The nicest thing about it is that the lipstick is refillable, with lovely packaging: the product's case may be taken apart to refill it, and the two can also be bought individually. A final personal touch is the bullet tip, which was inspired by Rihanna's iconic Cupid's Bow to make you feel like a member of the navy. All-in-all, this campaign is absolutely stellar. Not only is it gorgeous and empowering, but it also shows the diversity and inclusivity of the Fenty Beauty name. The models featured for this line embody a variety of diverse backgrounds and styles, and Rihanna herself looks absolutely stunning in all her photos.

Kim Kardashian is The New Face of Balenciaga’s Latest Campaign

Kim Kardashian and her ability to market a brand have always made her a valuable commodity in the fashion world. After months of wearing almost entirely Balenciaga, Kim Kardashian is now the face of the venerable company as part of its new marketing campaign unveiled today.

Yep, it's Kimmy's debut campaign for the label, bringing her small but exclusive list of luxury commercials to four. In the pictures, taken by Stef Mitchell, she's at her Calabasas home wearing an hourglass tailored jacket, a leopard number, and finally a bodysuit while doing what she excels in: taking selfies.

Her accessories include the Hourglass and Le Cagole handbags, which feature little tags embroidered with KKW's initials. For their part, Balenciaga wiped their Instagram grid clean save for the post of Kim and an IG Story of her with Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 playing in the background (as they usually do). It's the most recent high-profile star to be enlisted for a marketing campaign, following previous faces such as Justin Bieber and Cardi B.

Kardashian appears with returning face Isabelle Huppert, models Tommy Blue and Marie-Agnès Diene, for this event. This year, Balenciaga will debut its newest lifestyle campaign in tandem with the release of a series of videos that describe individuals' lives and aspirations. The campaign will include several phases that will be published throughout the season, showing consumers where they live and work while wearing the brand's core items. It appears that Kim's "Balenciaga Era" isn't coming to an end anytime soon. “This is my Balenciaga era, which followed the Givenchy era and preceded the Balmain one,” she told the New York Times in December. “When I'm wearing clothes designed by Demna, I feel cool. Because he designed it and he's the coolest, I know that no matter what I put on, everything will be OK.”

Who Wore It Better: Kendall Jenner or Bella Hadid?

More often than not, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid are the only two people who seem to know what's trending. Whether it's Kendall's affinity for sheer rompers, the supermodel's love of tracksuits, or simply a shared pair of enormous sunglasses, these fashion darlings have been quietly dictating the past few years' most influential trends.

To be fair, as sisters and "best friends forever," they do have a lot of the same stylistic influences. Welcome to the competition between fashion's most famous nepotism dolls: Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner.

When the ingenues of reality TV aren't opening shows for Givenchy and Jacquemus (or working as the creative director of FWRD), they're influencing the masses with their eagerly followed wardrobes, which have sparked divisive movements including 2018's preference for tiny sunglasses and last year's embrace of the cardigan vest.

On Monday, Hadid was captured in London wearing a very English ensemble: a tracksuit with "LONDON" across the chest. The outfit didn't fall short because to the cuts and some strategic accouterments, as evidenced by the massive pants, lug-soled boots, and leather motorcycle gloves.

Meanwhile, Jenner opted for a big blazer, which she covered with a crisp, equally big button-down. On the bottom, the model kept things simple with a pair of straight-leg jeans and high boots.

The business casual style represented shades of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, while Hadid's get-up was Sporty Spice for the Generation Z. Similitude aside, the controversies sparked by the two 'fits have long been debated: little shirt, big pants or big shirt, little pants? The issue of style continues to rage on — oversized on top or bottom?

Both have their advantages. Bella's baggy clothes exude natural ease, while Kendall's big coat lends a businesslike air to the table. However, given Hadid's recent string of style triumphs (the odd bedazzled crochet hat! The cargo skirt! The furry earmuffs!), we have to give her credit.

Superplastic and Gucci Release A New Line of NFTs

SUPERPLASTIC has only just revealed its enormous "HEADTRIPZ" NFT drop, but the multimedia business is already diving into another digital collaboration with luxury house Gucci.

SUPERGUCCI, the resulting NFT partnership, is a multi-faceted collection of digital and physical collectibles that will debut on February 1 on SUPERPLASTIC's website and will be accessible through Gucci's Vault site.

SUPERPLASTIC is giving its own community a sneak peek before the general drop with an early start. From 10 am EST on February 1, three distinct NFTs and three limited-edition NFTs will be accessible to SUPERPLASTIC NFT owners (for a total of 150 NFTs).

The covetable digital collectibles will be available for Gucci's Discord community an hour later. The SUPERGUCCI series will be available to the general public at 12 p.m. EST, with four different variants offered in an edition of 50 each to make a complete collection of 200 NFTs.

The SUPERGUCCI trilogy begins with ten unique NFTs each accompanied by a handmade Italian ceramic work of art created by both Gucci and SUPERPLASTIC, emphasizing the project's luxury overtones.

The new collection, dubbed the "Gucci x Superplastic Janky & Guggimon", is said to include "the trademark Gucci elements and characters" from SUPERPLASTIC.

If the stylized teaser pictures are anything to go by, imagine SUPERPLASTIC's Janky toys, but Gucci-patterned and topped off with a Gucci Aria cap, and don't be shocked if there's a lot of monograms.

SUPERGUCCI goes live on February 1, and the digital Gucci Vault will be opened with a sixth drop of vintage Gucci hand-picked by creative director Alessandro Michele and his team of in-house Gucci archivists, each numbered individually, and sent in "amazing packaging."The great deal of symbolism in the artwork is derived from Gucci's history and is reminiscent of SUPERGUCCI (the iconic Gucci Vault). In a very literal sense, old meets new here.

Kylie Jenner Faces Backlash for Ripping Off Trixie Mattel’s Makeup Line

Kylie Jenner is being criticized for ripping off Trixie Mattel's cosmetics line, according to reports. On Monday, Jenner shared a sneak peek of the Kylie Cosmetics's upcoming Valentine Collection on Instagram, including two lip kits, lip balm, lip gloss, blush sticks, highlighter, fake lashes, and a pressed powder palette. The internet, on the other hand, was unable to help but notice the resemblance between Trixie's lipsticks' heart-shaped boxes and those created by Drag Race star Trixie Mattel, prompting a slew of allegations that she had copied Trixie Cosmetics.
